It may need some tweaking for the aspect ratio and keyboard functionality and so on. It would be nice to see Minecraft Java be optimised for ARM and M1.Īnother Point to add is that now with M1, the Macs share the same chip architecture as iPhone and iPad, which it would make it much EASIER to port over Minecraft Bedrock to MacOS. It will also be a matter of time before other companies like Intel, AMD, Nvidia and others switch to ARM devices. Yes! I know that alot of Windows Users are switching to MacOS with M1 because of the insane performance per watt and power efficiency. M1 laptops already make 0.8% of the computer market and and the previous generations make up 6.21% of the computer market and a lot of that 6.21% is likely to upgrade It would be unfair to existing Mac Minecraft Java users as they would no longer able to use the product they paid for. M1 laptops already make 0.8% of the computer market and and the previous generations make up 6.21% of the computer market and a lot of that 6.21% is likely to upgrade. Aswell Apple will eventually ditch Rosetta 2 meaning no support for old Mac software in the future making current Minecraft incompatible for m1 Macs in 2026. If the M1 Chips continue to develop it's obvious that Macs will be in more hands than before and making Minecraft Java perform better on the new type of Mac will become more of a necessary task in the future. Making Minecraft Java optimised for the Apple Silicon Macs is a better use of time for Mojang's developers than making it available from the IOS section on the Mac App Store. Yes Minecraft is different as it runs through java, but if Java runs natively Minecraft runs with natively too. Many of Microsoft's products have already been optimised for the Mac like Office 365 and it is time that Minecraft received the same attention. and give more reason to Mojang to keep the IOS Version of Minecraft on the Mac App Store out of reach for Mac users. If Mojang optimised Minecraft Java for the M1 Macs it would be much easier to setup optimisation as a user. It can run as high as 200FPS at times (Vsync off). This has the advantages of better battery life and performance. Thanks to Tanmay Bakshi we can run Minecraft Java natively.
